Kōuma Pendants
A Kouma/breastplate is a significant traditional adornment, they hold historical significance and symbolise strength protection and leadership. Kouma were traditionally worn by chiefs and people of high status within the tribe. They are often worn on special occasions. The breastplate is one of the pieces of armour described in Paipera Tapu, worn for spiritual strength and courage.
